EXERCISE 1 : Translate into Swahili :
Chumvi, pilipili, ndizi, nazi, mbwa, paka, samaki, mbuzi, hatari, hasara, huzuni, thamani, barafu, baridi, mvua, njia, chupa, dawa, sabuni, sahani.
Nyanya yangu, babu yangu, rafiki yangu, rafiki zangu, shemeji huyu, shemeji hawa, suruali yangu, nguo zangu, kalamu yangu, simba mkubwa huyu, paka mdogo huyu, mbwa mkali huyu, chai yangu, kahawa yako, huzuni kubwa, hatari kubwa, bahati mbaya, ndizi tamu, nazi mbovu, njia ndefu.
EXERCISE 2 : Translate into English :
Coffee, tea, butter, sugar, the value, a goat, a dog, a mosquito, strength, rain, light, air, earth, sea, vegetables, meat, paper, a drum, a plate, a comrade / a brother, a friend, a soldier, a loss, permission, a bird.
Your friends, my mother, his / her sister, our brother, your grandmother, my clothes, his trousers, our bottles, my letter, your pen, his / her plates, your permission, my dog, their chickens, his : her joy, our problems, their bananas, my coconuts, your cat, your loss.
EXERCISE 3 : Translate into English :
- The cook has prepared tea and coffee.
- The students have papers and pens.
- Do you want meat or fish ?
- This coconut tree has a lot of coconuts.
- Your car is a big danger on the road.
- The child has (eats) bread and tea in the morning.
- Is there meat today ? - There isn't any.
- I have lost my little cat.
- I am very sorry for your loss.
- I am very ill. I have no strength at all.
- Today we eat chicken and sauce and different vegetables.
- This tea is cold. Heat it up again !
